Behind The Scenes: The Clock King

A section from my scribbled notes, as I ignite with rage at the sight of something that vaguely looked like something I hate.

Comic Scan: Batman Adventures #25

This week in the Comic Scans feature, there will be three of the pinups found in the back of Batman Adventures #25. We start with Matt Wagner, writer and artist on a couple great Batman books: Batman and the Monster Men, and Batman and the Mad Monk.

The Clock King

Fuck I am exhausted. After PAX all weekend, combined with my inability to sleep much since last Thursday, I’ve ended up way behind in my goals for this damn thing. I wanted to keep a week a head of everything? Yeah, it’s almost Monday right now and I’m just starting to review an episode I watched almost a week ago. And these notes are uh…wow, what the hell.

Let’s see how I do, typing in a state where I sort of space off and go to a magical nowhere land for a while. This should be fun. As a side note, my typing gets really good when I’m super tired. Anyone else experience this phenomenon?

Fuck, ok, shut up about other stuff. I watched The Clock King!

Grounded

It is here. It is fucking here. I am trembling with nervousness as I write this, taking breaks to pace around the room, and staring at my notes, overwhelmed at the task I have decided to take on.

Today, readers, for the first time, I will discuss an episode…

of Static Shock.

With the lack of DVDs, and my apathy towards torrenting, I haven’t seen much Static Shock in a while. I hope and pray that this will not hurt my ability to perform well here.

I take a deep breath and pop in the disc. It was a single DVD, containing the first 6 episodes. And it is not nearly enough to sate my appetite, but it will do for now.

I have chosen the episode “Grounded” and well…here goes nothing.

I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly.

Comic Scan: Batman Gotham Adventures #20

The funny thing is, Batman wasn’t trying to scare that guy.

An Uncomfortable Examination of Michael Rosenbaum

In this new feature, “An Uncomfortable Examination” we will take a closer look at various cast and crew members, characters, and aspects of the DCAU. Your personal comfort levels may vary. We kick off this inaugural edition by delving into the depths that surround one Michael Rosenbaum, voice of the Flash.

Apparently quite comfortable

Announcement: Whoops

Not that anyone noticed, but I had been messing around with some HTML in a bunch of the early entries a couple days ago, and failed to notice that I managed to mess up a bunch of it.

It is fixed now.

My apologies.

Behind the Scenes: I Ask Bruce Timm a Dumb Question

These Behind the Scenes are still in a very malleable state, and today we’re going to try a bit of me discussing something with one of the creative forces behind the show.

Today that creative source is the creative source: Bruce Timm.

I had about 1 short minute to talk to Timm at this year’s Comic-Con and here’s how I used it.

(this is very paraphrased)

Me: Hey can I ask you a dumb question?
BRUCE TIMM: Sure.
Me: Is the Lexcorp Building supposed to look like a face?
BRUCE TIMM: What? I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Me: The Lexcorp Building. It’s got two windows that look like eyes and the L logo looks like a nose.
BRUCE TIMM: I have never noticed that before.
Me: Oh. Well, it does. We thought it might be intentional, and then in that one episode, the big Brainiac skull comes out of it.
BRUCE TIMM: No, it wasn’t intentional.

Comic Scans: Justice League Adventures #10

Now my memory of that long ago is a bit sketchy, but I seem to remember O-Town being pretty goddamn scary.
